Favorite conference: AMMUN XVIII
I was always interested in finding who I am and who I want to be in this world; around three years ago, the only sense of identity I had was the Buzzfeed quiz telling me what kind of sandwich I am, but that all changed within my first MUN conference. My first conference, AMMUN XVII, showed me the importance of MUN; to educate myself on vital global issues and to look at different perspectives of politics. At first, it was hard for me to stand and speak strongly but participating in MUN helped me find my voice and helped me understand it is essential for my voice to be heard ― to make a difference. Watching the different perspectives of active member states allowed me to apprehend that everyone has a different story to be told, which only made me more excited to attend multiple MUN conferences. MUN was always an opportunity for me to escape the reality we live in today; instead of making dumplings for hours, I formed resolutions and solutions to global phenomena. MUN pushed me to be the best possible version of myself, and it showed me who I wanted to be; an impactful person to the world.
